It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of David Olivarez Sr., a devoted father, cherished grandfather, and beloved brother. He peacefully left this world on October 9, 2023, in his Nashville residence at the age of 61. As we grieve his loss, we reflect on the remarkable life he lived and the indelible impact he left behind.

David was born on September 14, 1962, in Haskell, Texas, to the late Jesus and Juana Olivarez. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Juan Olivarez Sr; and nephews Marcos Sanchez and Joe Cruz Jr.

Growing up with a strong work ethic, overcoming various challenges along the way. David found his calling in the lumber processing industry, specifically in wood packaging, processing, and shipping with McVantage Packaging, becoming an integral part of their team.

Throughout his life, David was known for his unwavering commitment to his family. He was a devoted father, and his son David Olivarez Jr. held a significant place in his heart. David was overjoyed to welcome his daughter-in-law Melissa Olivarez, granddaughter Kiera Olivarez, and grandson David Olivarez III into his family, filling his days with love and laughter. He took pride in watching his family grow and treasured every moment spent with them.

In addition to his immediate family, David is survived by his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews who were all a constant source of support, love, and camaraderie. His sister Petra Sanchez (Manuel), brothers Alejandro Olivarez Sr. (Irma), Oscar Olivarez Sr. (Sandra), and Jesus Olivarez Sr., sisters Jesusa Muñiz (Lupe), Maria Olivarez, Emilia Arroyo (Antonio Sr.), and Martha Cruz (Joe), and brother Alvino Olivarez Sr. (Lupe), and Ambrosio Olivarez Sr. (Cathy), shared countless memories and formed unbreakable bonds with him. Together, they navigated life's ups and downs, always offering comfort and encouragement.

Though his time with us has come to an end, David's spirit will forever remain in our hearts. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering love. David's legacy will live on through his family, who will carry his values and teachings for generations to come.
