Evelyn Bledsoe Kemp, age 89 of Gallatin, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Golden Living Center in Gallatin. A native of Yellow Creek in Erin Tennessee, she was born to the late John and Mamie Patterson Bledsoe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Gray Kemp; infant son, Randall Kirk Kemp; brother, Randall Bledsoe. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She loved cooking for family and friends, music, and dancing. She was a very accomplished piano player, playing by ear since the age of 3; and was of the Church of Christ faith.
She leaves many behind to cherish her memory; her children, Terry Kemp (Linda) of Hendersonville, Karen Berry (Richard) of White House; sister, Lorraine Smith of Gallatin; grandchildren, Kellyn Johnson (Chad) of South Carolina, Leslie Phillips (Jason) of Gallatin, Lindy Kemp Hunter of Hendersonville, Ryan Berry (Renee) of Greenbrier, Cameron Berry of White House; great-grandchildren, Charlsie and Conner Johnson, Laine, Lou, and Gray Phillips, Drew Hunter, Mai Katherine Southard, and Gray Berry.
Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, February 13, at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gallatin with Wayne Patrick Lankford officiating. Interment will follow in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens with Ryan Berry, Cameron Berry, Chad Johnson, Jason Phillips, Greg Smith, Mark Smith serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until Service time.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Meals on Wheels program in Gallatin, 200 E. Franklin Street, Gallatin, TN 37066.
Funeral services entrusted to the Anderson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street, Gallatin, Tennessee.
