James "Jim" C. Goodloe III

James "Jim" Camp Goodloe III, 85, of Hermitage, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 7, 2014. Born January 5, 1929, in Nashville, TN, Mr. Goodloe was a son of the late Mary Reams and James C. Goodloe, Jr. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary Kate Goodloe Moore and Jessie Goodloe Wilson, and his brother Ross Goodloe. He is survived by his wife of 61years, Maria Bailey Goodloe; his son, James Camp Goodloe IV (Deborah) of Richmond, VA; his daughters, Alice Goodloe Darnell (Larry) of Franklin, Barbara Goodloe Johnson (Steve) of Nashville, and Mary Goodloe of Old Hickory; his grandchildren, Campbell Goodloe Hackett (Conrad) of Washington, D.C., Ashley Darnell Navarro (Antonio) of Franklin, Kate Johnson of Hixson, John Johnson of Nashville, and Laura Darnell of Franklin; his great-grandchildren, Harrison Hackett, Eleanor Hackett, and Jeremiah Navarro; his brothers, Reams Goodloe of Covington, WA, and Tom Goodloe of Evansville, IN; and his sisters, Evelyn Goodloe Williams of Niota and Faith Goodloe of LaVergne. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Goodloe served as Sergeant in the U.S. Army Signal Corp in Korea. He retired in November 1987 as an engineer for AT&T, having worked for Bell telephone systems for thirty-eight years. Mr. Goodloe was a faithful member, deacon, and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin, serving many years as property chairman. He was a treasurer of the Gallatin Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 425 in Gallatin for many years. Visitation hours at Anderson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Gallatin, TN 37066, Thursday, April 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service at First Presbyterian Church. Funeral service Friday, April 11, 3:00 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 167 W. Main St., Gallatin, TN 37066. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gallatin Noon Rotary Club.  Interment in Crestview Memorial Park, 1623 Hwy. 109 N., Gallatin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mr. Goodloe’s memory be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin or The Foundation for Reformed Theology, 4103 Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230.
