Juanita A. Frazor, age 86, of Gallatin, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, W.E. Frazor and Sadie Jones Frazor; and her Frazor grandparents, and her Jones grandparents.
Ms. Frazor was a graduate of Gallatin High School and worked 42 years at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in the Department of Biochemistry. She retired in 1997 and continued to work as a volunteer Executive Director, and Treasurer of the Sumner County Museum, and for 13 years was the Director of the Annual Cemetery Tour in the Gallatin City Cemetery.
She was named Citizen of the Year by the News Examiner in 2008 and in 2015, many thanks to the late John Garrott, she was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship of Rotary Clubs International. She was a member of the DAR, Rose Mont, Cragfont, Bledsoe Lick Association, Museum Association, and the Sumner County Historical Society, where she served as Secretary and Treasurer at various times.
She was very active in church, having been a long-time member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church in Gallatin and for a short time Sumner Christian Fellowship.
She had many friends and acquaintances in her lifetime and enjoyed eating out with friends. She was a big talker - she had a plaque that she picked up somewhere that summed it all up, “Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.”
Funeral service will be conducted at First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2022, with Rev. Candice Klein and Mark Scott officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home; and will resume on Friday at 12:00 Noon until service time at the First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin. Burial will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
Arrangements entrusted to the Anderson Funeral Home of Gallatin, 202 E. Main Street, Gallatin.
