Mary Elizabeth Wheaton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Wheaton, who passed peacefully on October 23, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on May 13, 1933, in Sherman, West Virginia and graduated Parkersburg High School in 1951, Mary lived a full life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

For many years, Mary enjoyed a successful career as a Purchasing Manager at Union Insulating in Parkersburg, WV which later became Thomas & Betts in Portland, TN, in the electrical outlet manufacturing industry, where she was known for her dedication and work ethic. She was a strong and resourceful woman who touched the lives of many with her kind heart and generous spirit.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Reed and Beulah Pickrell Reed; and brother Gene Reed.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan Wheaton of Gallatin, Tennessee; and a niece, Terri Reed Bernhoft of Belton, South Carolina.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation in honor of Mary at Anderson Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 5:00 PM. until 7:00 PM. Her life will be celebrated with warmth and love as we remember the moments that defined her.

After the services, Mary will be transferred out of state for her final resting place at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Parkersburg, West Virginia,

Mary's presence will be sorely missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Now, let's come together to celebrate this remarkable woman and all that she meant to us.
