It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Ann Willoughby, lovingly referred to as Nana, age 88, on October 25, 2026. Born on May 21, 1938, in Pulaski, Tennessee, Nancy was a resident of Gallatin, Tennessee, where she led a life grounded in family, community, and dedication.
Ms. Nancy's love for Jesus was the foundation of her life, and she found great peace in the assurance of her salvation. She looked forward to the promise of Heaven with a joyful heart, knowing that one day she would be welcomed into the arms of her Savior.
Nancy was a proud graduate of Bodenham "aka The University". She spent many years of her life alongside her husband Mahlon "Scorch" Willoughby at the shoe shop. She also spent many years working at a local shirt factory before enjoying her well-deserved retirement. She will be remembered not only for her industrious spirit but also for her warm heart and the unconditional love she offered to her family and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by: Julius Brown, Dimple Brown, Mahlon Willoughby, Larry Willoughby, Jimmy Willoughby, James Brown, Johnny Brown, Betty Kimbrough, Jerry Woods, Larry Polly, George Brown, Julia Glossup, and Rosemary O'Connell.
Nancy is survived by her son, Jerry Willoughby (Joyce); her sisters, Barbara Green, Nita Woods, Elaine Allison, Linda Polly, and Diane White; her beloved sister-in-law, Sue Brown; and her grandchildren, Sandi Harrison (Jonathan), Lee Willoughby, Jeremy Willoughby, Justin Willoughby (Kelly Ann) , and Stacey Willoughby. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her great-grandchildren, Shane Harrison, Eli Willoughby, Vera Willoughby, Arthur Willoughby, Charlie Willoughby, and Ty Daniels, and two great-great grandchildren Madison Keene and Wilder Harrison.
Ms. Nancy had a special love for antiques and treasured things from days gone by. She appreciated the beauty, history, and stories behind each piece, knowing that old things often hold the most precious memories. To her, these treasures were more than possessions; they were reminders of the past, connections to generations before her, and a legacy worth preserving.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and again on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 11:00am - 12:00 noon at Anderson Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor Clay Carrigan officiating.
