Norma Jean Martin, age 88, a resident of Elmcroft Senior Living in Hendersonville, passed away on Thursday, October  6, 2016 at Elmcroft Senior Living in Hendersonville.  Funeral Services for Norma Jean Martin will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel on 202 East Main Street in Gallatin, TN. Cody Case and Lance Thompson will officiate and interment will follow in the Gallatin City Cemetery.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at 2:00 p.m.

Norma Jean Martin was born on March 15, 1928 in Youngstown, OH, one of two siblings born to the late Henry and Mary Katheryn (Kennedy) Martin.  She married Clyde Albert Martin on May 18, 1952, who preceded her in death on December 9, 2013.  She graduated from Boardman High School and worked at Ohio Bell before moving to Ft Myers, FL, where she retired from the United Telephone Company with over 33 years of service.  She was a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club and St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and St. Michael’s Church Choir.  In addition to her husband of sixty years and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Chalky.  She is survived by daughter, Judith M. Heidemann of Gallatin, TN, grandson, Ryan K. McLean of Nashville, TN, granddaughter, McKenzie and husband, Kaleb Hammock of Gallatin, TN.  Judith and family wish to take this opportunity to thank the St. Michael’s Church Family, Todd Adams with LPL, Charlie, Sandy, Michael Stultz, Joe Waas and Sherri Sullivan-May, all in Ft Myers, FL for all their help in the past couple of years.  A special thanks to Highpoint Hospice of Gallatin and the Elmcroft of Hendersonville staff for the special care given and love shown.
