The family of Ms. Peggy R. Brinley is deeply saddened to announce that she passed away on October 9, 2026, in Gallatin, Tennessee. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for more than three years.
She was born on November 5, 1940, in Rock Bridge to the late Aubrey and Lena Barr Elliott Williams. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband Bobby Ray Brinley and siblings, Nora Gregory, Jarvis Williams, Johnny Williams, Jimmy Williams, Ruby Jean Tipton, Ricky Williams, Jerry Dean Williams, and Joe H. Williams. She is survived by brother Jack Williams, sister Dottie Gregory, and sister Daphne (Lucky) Mace, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, church family, and friends.
For many years, Ms. Peggy was a beloved preschool teacher and director for the Gallatin Methodist Church, helping shape the lives of countless children with patience, kindness, and love. To Ms. Peggy, they were never simply students - she considered them all her children and was such a big part of their childhood.
Ms. Peggy loved the simple things in life like coffee on the porch every morning, spending quality time with her family and friends, a good steak, laughter, and her faith. She was a lover of life who put God above all else and was a faithful member at May Hill Missions.
The family would like to especially thank all those who helped take such good care of Ms. Peggy during her battle with cancer. The doctors, surgeons, nurses, homecare, hospice, and a special angel named Allison were an answer to prayer that brought her great comfort.
Per her wishes, a graveside service and interment will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 2:00pm at Rock Bridge Cemetery (200 Whitson Road, Bethpage, TN 37022).
Anderson Funeral Home is honored to care for Ms. Peggy and her family.
