It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ricky "Rick" Allen Spencer, who departed this life peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 3, 1948, in Berea, Ohio, Ricky spent much of his life dedicated to his family, his work, and his country.

Rick grew up in a close-knit family and later pursued an education that led him to a fulfilling career as an engineer at AT&T. He was known for his dedication, hard work, and innovative spirit, traits that earned him the respect of his colleagues and contributed significantly to his field. Ricky also proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 10, 1967, until his honorable discharge on May 15, 1969, achieving the rank of Specialist 4. He then joined the United States Air Force Reserve, where he retired at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Spencer and Edna Angus Spencer; and sister, Janet Gladys.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Rick cherished his time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Spencer; his daughter, Tiffany Dantzler (Jay); his son, Todd Spencer (Mica); and his adoring granddaughters, Whitney Lowe (Jared), Alexa Spencer, and TeaganGrace Galloway. He will also be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Alexander Lowe, and Callahan Lowe, who is on the way, and his brother, Charles Spencer (Debbie).

Rick's life will be celebrated with a visitation at Anderson Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, where family and friends can gather to honor his memory and share their stories. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location, where his life and legacy will be reflected upon with love and gratitude. Following the service, he will be laid to rest with military honors at 1:00 PM at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.
