Robert W. Steele

Robert W. Steele, age 70 of Gallatin, passed away on August 10, 2024, in Gallatin, Tennessee. He was born on November 3, 1953, in Manchester, Tennessee, to his loving parents Wayne Steele and Dorothy Steele, both of whom have preceded him in death. Robert leaves behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to his various roles within Sumner County.

Throughout his life, Robert touched the hearts of many with his kindness and dedication. His career at Sumner County was marked by professionalism and a strong work ethic, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son Philip Groves Jr., his brother Billy Joe Steele, and James Russell Wimberley.

Robert will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Rebecca Groves-Steele. He is also survived by his daughters, Christy Steele (Bryan Carroll Sr.) and Crystal Williams (Dave), as well as his step-daughter Michelle Groves. His grandchildren, Nikki Snyder, Christopher Snyder (Chesney), Bryan Carroll Jr., Amily Carroll, Katie Sawyers (Dalton), and his aunt Hady Sartin (Cecil), brother, David Steele (Michelle), and numerous great-grandchildren, loving family members and friends.

A visitation in memory of Robert W. Steele will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 202 East Main St, Gallatin, TN, 37066. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with Dr. Mark Grubb officiating. Burial will follow in the Gallatin City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer will be Matt Brown. Serving as active pallbearers will be Tommy, Christopher, Anthony, Dave, Steve, and Lloyd.
