Robert "Billy" William Wix, a cherished father, brother, and devoted family man, passed away on April 2, 2026, in Gallatin, Tennessee. Born on October 21, 1955, in Galveston, Texas, Billy lived a life marked by dedication both in his professional career and in his personal passions.

Billy retired from Southwest Airlines after an impressive 36 years of service, where he played a significant role in ground operations and served as a provisioning manager. His commitment and work ethic left an indelible mark on those who worked alongside him, reflecting a lifetime of diligence and professionalism.

Billy was a man of strong faith, who loved his Lord Jesus. Beyond his career, Billy was a man who truly appreciated the beauty of music, a passion he lovingly shared and passed on to his children. This love of really great music was a cornerstone of his relationship with his family and a thread that connected generations.

He is survived by his loving children: Nancy Redding (Joel), Lindsay Randall (Grant), Alexandra Wheeler (Onie), Ashton Rowland (James), and Cason Wix. His devotion to family extended to his grandchildren, Mason Smith, Dylan Keep, Bella Rowland, Sullivan Randall, and Stella Randall, all of whom will remember him with deep affection. Billy's bond with his siblings-Bambi Scruggs, Rory Wix, Kelly Butler, Melody Wix, Keenan Wix, and Joan Hymel-was strong, providing a network of support and love throughout his life. Additionally, he was a caring stepfather to Ashley Wakefield, Jennifer MacDonald, and Corey Haynes; and dearly loved his numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy's heart also embraced his beloved dogs, both past and present, including Rex, who preceded him in death, and Jimi, who remained a faithful companion.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert William Wix Sr., and his mother, Norma Wix, whose memories he carried with him always.
