Vince Marquez, a loving brother, husband, father, uncle, papi, a loyal friend, and devoted dog dad, passed away on November 21, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee. Born on October 5, 1960, in Denver, Colorado, Vince led a life marked by dedication to service.
Vince proudly served a twenty-one-year distinguished career for the City of Gallatin as a Master Patrol Officer (MPO) with the Gallatin Police Department, where he was deeply involved in several key areas including the Emergency Response Team and the Bike Patrol Unit. He also played a crucial role in training new officers as a Field Training Officer (FTO), demonstrating his commitment to both public safety and the growth of his colleagues. His passion for service extended beyond law enforcement; he faithfully served in the United States Air Force as a member of Security Forces for more than 34 years, contributing to Operation Desert Shield/Storm and the liberation of Kuwait, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terrorism.
Beyond his professional life, Vince was an avid hunter and fisherman who found immense joy in the outdoors which led him to create Muddy Bayou Archery. As the owner and head coach, he dedicated himself to teaching and mentoring young archers. These students have gone on to win many awards in archery at the state, regional, and national levels. He was a steadfast presence in the lives of those around him, cherished for his unwavering positivity and laughter that could light up any room.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his daughter, Lainey Dyson (Joseph); his granddaughter, Taylor Grace Dyson; his brothers, Demetrio Marquez (Heather), Dominic Marquez (Rebecca), Robert Mestas, Gilbert Montour; and his sisters, Andrea Duff (Greg), Michelle Rosenberg, Lyrica Marquez; and OG wife, Kathy Marquez. He is also fondly remembered by his stepmother, Gayle Lee, and leaves behind a treasured group of nieces and nephews including Eddie, Nicole, Sophia, Monica (Lee), Marty, Eric, Andre, Maggie (Connor), Anisa, Adrian, Kobe, Danielle (Justin), Carlos, and Micah.
Vince was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Marquez; his mother, Juanita Archuletta; and his brothers, Ron Montour, Anthony Mestas; his sisters, Valerie Escobido, Catherine Miller. Each of these losses left a mark on his life and made his connection with his surviving family, friends, and community all the more significant.
A visitation will be held for family and friends at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 202 East Main St, Gallatin, TN, on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 2:00 PM with Dr. Howie Cantrell officiating, to honor and remember Vince's remarkable journey and enduring spirit.
